Suzaku Kururugi, son of Japan's last prime minister Genbu Kururugi, becomes an Honorary Britannian and part of the Britannian army, later becoming the pilot of the experimental Knightmare Frame Lancelot as a member of the R&D Division. The Lancelot Prototype is the machine he pilots during his early service, representing the cutting edge of Britannian Knightmare technology. Suzaku uses this frame to fight against Zero's Black Knights, believing in reforming Britannia from within rather than through rebellion. His exceptional piloting skills make him a formidable opponent, and the Lancelot Prototype's performance is a key factor in his ability to challenge even the Black Knights' best pilots like Kallen Kouzuki. In the second season, Suzaku is granted a position in the Knights of the Round by the Emperor for his capture of Zero, and the Lancelot Prototype is eventually upgraded into the Lancelot Albion.

Inside the cockpit, Suzaku gripped the controls, feeling the hum of the Anti-Gravity Propulsion System vibrating through his gloves.
