During the administration changeover ceremony, she fell under the accidental influence of Lelouch's Geass, and was reluctantly compelled to kill the Japanese people. Zero fatally shot her in the stomach to end the chaos. Suzaku brought Euphemia to the floating battleship Avalon for emergency treatment. She fought off the Geass and had a last conversation with Suzaku before dying from her injuries, unaware of what had happened. After the incident, Britannia officially declared Euphemia responsible for the massacre, deprived her of her royal status, and executed her by the Britannian Army. She came to be known as the "Massacre Princess" to the general Japanese public in Area 11.
